Ruhi Training Institute

The Ruhi Training Institute offers a series of study circles that nurture spiritual growth, strengthen our capacity to serve, and build vibrant communities. Through collaborative study, reflection, and action, participants learn to contribute to the spiritual and social life of their neighbourhoods.

The Ruhi Training Institute courses are a series of study circles developed to help individuals deepen in the Bahá’í Writings and serve their communities. They are often called Ruhi Books. Each book contains several units, and many have practice components where participants apply what they are learning in service.

Here’s the current list of the main sequence of Ruhi Books:

  1. Book 1: Reflections on the Life of the Spirit
    • Understanding the Bahá’í Writings, prayer, life after death.
  2. Book 2: Arising to Serve
    • Deepening, sharing the Faith, accompaniment.
  3. Book 3: Teaching Children’s Classes, Grade 1
    • Spiritual education of children.
  4. Book 4: The Twin Manifestations
    • The lives of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh.
  5. Book 5: Releasing the Powers of Junior Youth
    • Empowering 12–15 year-olds, animating junior youth groups.
  6. Book 6: Teaching the Cause
    • Engaging in meaningful conversations, teaching the Faith.
  7. Book 7: Walking Together on a Path of Service
    • Tutoring and accompanying others in the institute process.
  8. Book 8: The Covenant of Bahá’u’lláh
    • Understanding the Covenant and its protection of unity.
  9. Book 9: Gaining an Historical Perspective
    • A deeper look at Bahá’í history.
  10. Book 10: Building Vibrant Communities
  • Elements of community life and social action.

  • The spiritual and practical aspects of using resources in service.

Branch Courses (linked to main sequence but developed further)

  • Children’s Class Development
    • Books that expand on Book 3 for higher grades (Grades 2, 3, 4).
  • Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program (JYSEP)
    • Several texts for junior youth groups (such as Breezes of Confirmation, Wellspring of Joy, Glimmerings of Hope, etc.).
  • Other materials under development focus on community building, social action, and engaging in public discourse.
